We left Kingman fairly early knowing we could check into Planet Hollywood at about 3pm, this would give us enough time to see the Hoover Dam. The Dam is the largest in the US and at the time it was built was the biggest Hydro power plant dam in the world. This was another Great Depression Project of the 1930's
Started in 1931 and finished 5 years later. 35.000 men worked 3 shifts a day for 5 years getting only 2 days off a year.
The power plant supplies about 1million homes and businesses with power, but the huge dam caused by the damming of the Colorado supplies water to millions of homes and services the big agricultural sector of the desert region.
We walked the length of the wall and took a guided tour or the power plant
