LAS VEGAS

As usual with big city arrivals we were a bit on edge, even with the GPS things can go wrong.....luckily
for us it was a Sunday so not to busy. We are booked in for 3 nights at PH Westgate Towers, We found
a good rate on their own site for a Studio Apartment....bedroom,and separate lounge/kitchenette,a corner room with great views to the mountains and bit of the 'strip' and all this 18 stories up for $113 a night.
On leaving the immediate area of the hotel lobby we ended up in another world,....middle Eastern in theme, ...shops. bars, restaurants and show stage area and this was only building one, on the STRIP.
Each hotel/ casino has its own theme, most are indoors, but we also a water fountain display...on the hour every hour after 7pm till very late....then there was the exploding volcano, the gondola on the Venice canal and the Eiffel tower......flashing neon signs all to get you inside to gamble....and thousands of people roaming up and down the strip.
Those who were not walking, were eating at the street front restaurants watching the strollers.
Its a mind boggling scene at first but the noise and crush will wear thin for us after 3 nights.
However SHOWS are big in LV so tonight we are off to Cirque du Soliel, and tomorrow night David Cooperfield.... supposedly with 40/50 discounted tickets that we cued for a hour to get.
