ANOTHER DAY IN SPOKANE

The day started well with our buffet breakfast at the Red Lion Hotel which is located in Downtown (center)
We are planning our walk around town..no driving today. We had a slow start as Ron got on the computer to fix up the blog and download photos and at 11am I said 'it;s time we went out.' We walked and walked around the quiet streets, being Sunday here it was quiet on the streets. We ended up at  Post Street Ale House which had about 26 beers on tap, we chose one each, for a pint it cost $4. We also had lunch there that was quite good, Ron had an Italian hot dog which he said was very tasty, a bit more fancy than we have at home and I had a spicy black bean soup. After that we wandered into a beautiful historic  hotel called the Davenport, it had timber and marble and lots of antiques I couldn't resist taking a photo or two, we sat for a while in the lobby in big comfortable leather chairs and dreamed. Later  we went to happy hour in our hotel which is quite nice but not the qualityof the Davenport.... after a beer each we headed off to 'Pig Out in the Park' again for dinner  of which we chose from the multitude of  offerings, some salmon each with salsa and salad, it was very tasty. A little bit of history...... Bing Crosby came from Spokane originally, there is a theatre named after him. This town is into arts and music quite a big way, they have a symphony orchestra and lots of theatres etc. Also there was a number of Indian tribes who lived in this area of coarse they were taken over by the settlers in the early days, The ones now mostly live in their own communities we could have gone to a special dance on Saturday but we arrived here to late to drive the 50 miles to see it, I would .loved to have seen that.   So much for now we will, keep you posted.
