WHAT A DAY IN THE PARK

We started out about 9.30am and headed up the HWY full of great expectations based on the brochures we had seen ..and we weren't disappointed. We drove past Flathead Lake nearly to Whitefish where Ron spotted the Walmart to try to buy some sandals, but out of luck. We then headed off through the undulating hills and finally rounded the corner to see the beautiful picture postcard craggy mountains, at the entrance to the park we purchased a Beautiful America card to get us into the other national parks we wish to see, at $80 we figured it was worth it. All we can say it was awe inspiring every turn was a lovely sight, we drove along the ' Road to the Sun' right through the park, along with lots of others. We stopped at the Mountain Lodge hotel for lunch it was full of interesting memorabilia and we had a reasonable lunch. After the park we drove across the prairie through an Indian reservation, we made an observation that the Indian communities were not unlike our aboriginal communities, they were run down and all a bit sad really.
Tonight we are staying at a very small town called Cut Bank...we are now well away from the mountains in Prairie country.
What will tomorrow bring.
